International LIT Symposium
Our LIT Symposium takes place every two years and is an event dedicated to exploring synthetic immunology with an emphasis on: the immune cells that influence critical tissue function in health and disease, the functionality these immune cells need in order to cure diseased tissues, and how to engineer them to acquire this functionality.

Symposium 2022 – “Smart Cells: Synthetic Immunology / Synthetic Biology”
The scope of the symposium 2022 covered state-of-the-art ways to reprogram immune cells, using innovative signaling circuits, sensory systems, and transduction methodologies. We discussed the latest developments in the clinical application of engineered T cells and bench-to-bedside strategies for disseminating research.
Symposium 2019 – “Synthetic immunology and environment-adapted redirection of T cells”
Our 2019 symposium explored which programs in immune cells critically shape tissue function in health and disease, which functionalities immune cells need to cure diseased tissues, and how immune cells can be engineered to acquire this desired functionality.
