“Graduate Student Appreciation Week” at the LIT provided new insights into career paths, strategies for promoting mental well-being, and opportunities for interaction, positive shared experiences, and fun.

  • Jeremy Baldwin, Postdoctoral Scientist at the Research Division “Functional Immune Cell Modulation” and Dr. Valerie Bezler, Postdoctoral Scientist at the Research Division “Genetic Immunotherapy “, highlighted opportunities and alternative pathways in science for our graduate students in their seminar.
  • Movie Night screening of “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”: This film about Henrietta Lacks and the immortal cell line, known as HeLa, derived from her cervical cancer cells, explores the principles of ethics and medical research.
  • Christine Häcker (Psychological and Psychotherapeutic Counseling, Central Student Advisory Service, University of Regensburg) guided our graduate students through a meditation session and provided tips for stress management in her “Wellness Seminar,” followed by pizza for all.
  • Gift bags full of goodies for all graduate students.

We thank our highly motivated graduate students for their valuable contributions to the LIT’s research!
