LIT Retreat Brings Research Groups Together for Exchange, Ideas and Collaboration

The retreat gathered colleagues from across the institute for a day centred on exchange, networking and collaboration. Instead of lengthy talks, the programme featured brief lightning presentations by each principal investigator, who introduced their group’s focus in the context of LIT’s mission: developing innovative therapies for cancer, autoimmunity and chronic inflammation by reprogramming immune cells.
Those concise presentations opened the door to a highly interactive day. A poster session, themed lunch discussions and dedicated exchange slots gave participants plenty of opportunities to present their work, seek input, offer expertise and explore potential collaborations. Contributions ranged from established projects with data to early-stage ideas and planned research directions – all presented in relation to the institute’s broader scientific goals.

The format was designed to make the most of LIT’s diverse expertise and to strengthen connections across the institute. By creating room for open discussion and practical exchange, the retreat helped surface new ideas, identify shared interests and lay the groundwork for future collaboration.
With its energetic format and strong focus on interaction, the retreat proved that scientific progress is not only built in the lab, but also in the conversations that bring researchers together.
