This cooperational format aims to foster scientific synergies and clinical translation with groups that address complementary clinical topics in immunomedicine.

The new groups are:

  • “Translational Immunobiology of Early Systemic Cancer”, headed by PD Dr. Melanie Werner-Klein, group leader at the Chair of Experimental Medicine and Therapy Research at the University of Regensburg.
  • “Metabolite Driven Intercellular Communication”, headed by Prof. Kathrin Renner-Sattler, head of Experimental Ear, Nose and Throat Medicine at the University Hospital Regensburg.

The cooperation with the LIT Cooperation Groups, which were already affiliated with the LIT, is further strengthened and intensified:

  • “Organ Transplantation” – Prof. Edward Geissler
  • “Immunometabolomics” – Prof. Marina Kreutz
  • “Inflammation, Autoimmunity and Fibrosis” – Prof. Matthias Mack
  • “Innate Immune Sensing in Cancer and Transplantation” – Prof. Hendrik Poeck
  • “Immune Cell Communication” – Prof. Dietmar Zaiß

In a kick-off meeting in February the first staff members of the LIT Cooperation Groups started the LIT onboarding process.
