Philipp Beckhove’s workshop “A Vision for Hospitals of the Future as Global Networks” will explore how AI-supported data integration, precision medicine, and interconnected hospital networks could improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment across the Global North and Global South. Discussions will address the use of large, transnational health datasets, federated learning, and standardized approaches to data collection and pseudonymization. The session will also examine the potential of “smart living drugs,” including cell and gene therapies, for treating cancer and severe autoimmune diseases.
Alongside the opportunities presented by these innovations, speakers will discuss data sovereignty, affordability, infrastructure, and equitable access – particularly in low- and middle-income countries and other resource-constrained settings.
