This year’s edition spanned three evenings (May 14, 20, and 21), featuring sold-out venues, lively discussions, and diverse scientific themes—all presented in an engaging, accessible format for the public.

The festival kicked off on May 14 at Alte Mälzerei, with a focus on cancer research. Among the speakers was Dr. Maria Xydia, head of LIT’s Immunomonitoring Facility, whose talk stood out for its clarity, enthusiasm, and audience engagement. She not only presented cutting-edge research on how scientists bolster the immune system to fight tumors but also introduced the mission and key activities of LIT, sparking a long, interactive Q&A session with attendees.

On May 20, the festival continued at Tiki Beat Bar, with a night dedicated to climate change, held in German. The final evening on May 21 featured a dual-venue format: one event at Murphy’s Law, focused on health and nutrition (in German), and a second parallel session at Alte Filmbühne, showcasing scientists from the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning (in English).

Speakers hailed from across Germany—including Munich, Ulm, and Berlin—and each evening drew 60–80 curious minds, eager to enjoy a pint while learning about science in an informal, welcoming environment. The atmosphere was vibrant and intellectually rich, reinforcing the power of public science communication.

The organizing committee of Pint of Science 2025 in Regensburg consisted of Luise Aumüller, Valerie Bezler, Franziska Durst, Abir Hussein, Julia von Poblotzki, Elena Romero, Dhyani Shah, Chiara Suriano and Kimaya Tekade from the LIT.
